Shady Hollow in Southwest Austin
Follow Brodie Lane south past Slaughter Lane and you will enter the southwest neighborhood of Shady Hollow. In 1972 custom homes began being built on large 3/4 of an acre to 3 acre wooded lots. The lot sizes have changed over the years as the community has grown. Today Shady Hollow has close to 1400 homes and an estimated population of 5000 people.

It has a Homeowners Association which offices in the neighborhood community center. Residents of Shady Hollow may use the facility for meetings, parties and community activites. The Garden Club, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and other groups meet in the community center monthly. Each year the HOA hosts family holiday celebrations like the Fourth of July Parade, Easter Egg Hunt, Holiday Lighting Contest and more. Children attend neighborhood AISD schools Baranhoff Elementary, Bailey Middle School and James Bowie High School are all within walking distance. Amenties include a beautiful swimming pool, which is home to the Shady Hollow Stingrays the summer swim team. Tennis courts, playscapes, parks, a nature preserve, walking paths all help to make the neighborhood a very desirable family community.
