North, Northwest and West Austin, TX
The terrain changes as you go West in Austin. Your first glimpse of this is traveling north on Capital of Texas Highway(Hwy 360)...the terrain is rolling and there is a carpet of trees as far as you can see. You can take either Bee Caves Rd (2244) or Bull Creek(2222) west to acces the far west side of Austin. West Austin has many rolling hilltops...some have been developed with homes, office buildings, apartments, and condos...but we still have quite a few that have been untouched. Beauty still abounds all around.
Atop a hill you will see homes in a subdivision called Jester Estates that has been around for many years. Jester Estates is surrounded by Balcones Canyonland and is just 15 minutes to Lakeway and 25 minutes to Downtown Austin. An upscale neighborhood comprised of approximately 900 homes.
Once you are on the far west part of Austin your choices are numerous...from very large Planned Communities such as Steiner Ranch with many amenities to lake front communities like Lakeway. All around the west side of Lake Travis you have residential communities, restaurants, bed & breakfast's, many marinas full of sail boats, motor boats, yachts & house boats. There are parks scattered around the lake with public boat ramps. There are even recreational areas like Volente Beach to swim and hang out at the lake....a little something for everyone.
